Shipping

How long does delivery take?

Most US orders arrive in about 2 weeks. That's an average, and some orders take longer. We can't guarantee delivery by a specific date, including holidays. If you're making gifts, order early.

How much is shipping?

US orders ship for a flat $4.95. Orders over $35 ship free.

Where do orders ship from?

Our suppliers' warehouses, most of them outside the US. We ship to US addresses only for now.

Why did only part of my order arrive?

Items from different warehouses ship separately and can arrive on different days. You pay shipping once, and we email tracking for each package when it's available.

Will I have to pay customs or import fees?

Our prices don't add import fees at checkout. If a carrier ever asks you to pay one, email us before you pay and we'll cover it or refund your order.

What if an item sells out after I order?

We update stock once a day, so an item can occasionally sell out at the supplier before we place your order. If that happens, we'll email you and refund that item.

Returns

Can I return something?

You can request a return within 7 days after delivery. If your order comes in several packages, the 7 days start when the last one arrives. Items need to be unused and in their original packaging. Contact us first. You pay the return postage, and approved returns go back to our supplier's warehouse. Most of those warehouses are outside the US, so on a low-priced item the postage can cost more than the item.

What if an item is damaged or wrong?

Send us a photo. We'll replace or refund it, and you won't need to send it back. The same goes for an item that doesn't match its listing. Full details are in the refund policy.

Products

Which hook or needle size do I need?

Start with the size your pattern or yarn label gives. Our size guide converts between millimeters and US sizes and shows typical sizes for each yarn weight.

Where does the fiber content come from?

Every yarn page lists the fiber content given by the supplier. Colors can differ slightly between dye lots and screens, so buy enough of one color for a whole project.

Are these supplies safe for children?

Our supplies are for adult crafters. Safety eyes, noses, stitch markers and many small tools have small parts or sharp points and are not suitable for children under 3.

Payment

How do I pay?

Checkout goes through PayPal, and you don't need a PayPal account. On the PayPal screen, choose Pay with Debit or Credit Card to check out as a guest. Your card details stay with PayPal and aren't shared with us. The business behind Hook & Skein is Labelbound, so that name may appear on your receipt.
